Stream plants are freshwater plants that are typical of living in and by stream habitats.
They play an important role in the biology and ecology of many water realms.
Some stream plants are mostly found at the margins of water bodies,
while others exist as emergent forms in shallow water and submerged or floating forms in deeper water.
There are generally four types of stream plants:
a) Plants at the water margins
b) Emergent plants
c) Submerged plants
d) Floating-leaved plants
