Scrubland / Shrubland
Scrubland is one of the three major
types of vegetation in Hong Kong. According to the International Biological
Programme, the term "scrubland" refers to "woody vegetation
predominantly of shrubs, as used here ranging between 0.5 and 5 m in height",
while our government publication Land Utilization in Hong Kong (1968)
defined it as "land with a fairly continuous cover of shrubs and bushes
from 1 foot (0.3 m) to eight (2.4 m) feet in height".
