Description:

Habit: Shrubs or treelets to 5 m tall; branchlets densely spreading yellowish or grey-yellow villose

Leaves: Stipules subulate, 3 - 4 mm long. Petioles 1 - 2 mm long, villose; leaf blade papery, ovate, narrowly ovate or broad-ovate, 4 - 8 cm long, 1.5 - 3.5 cm wide, base obtuse, truncate or rounded, zygomorphic, apex acuminate or acute, densely yellowish- or grey-villose, nut denser abaxially; lateral veins 4 - 5 pairs

Flowers: Flowers solitary or 2- to 4-flowered in axillary clusters; male flowers: inserted at lower part of branchlets; pedicels 4 - 6 mm long sepals 6, oblong-obovate. 2.5 - 4 mm long, apex acute, sparsely pubescent outside; stamens 3, connate; female flowers inserted at upper part of branchlets, subsessile; sepals 6, oblong, 2.5 - 3 mm long, villose on both surfaces; ovary depressed-globose, densely pubescent, 4. to 5-locular, style-column cylindric, erect, ca. 1.5 mm long, 4- to 5-lobed

Jiangsu, Fujian, Taiwan, Hunan, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan. Vietnam, Thailand

Uses: All parts or roots and leaves are used as medicine for the urticaria, mastitis, toothache, menorrhagia, dysentery, skineczema, enteritis, etc
